McKinney Falls State Park
We had enough of the city, so we headed out to McKinney Falls State Park, a state park in Austin, Texas.
The park is administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. It opened on April 15, 1976 and is named after Thomas F. McKinney, a businessman, race horse breeder and rancher, who owned and lived on the land in the mid-to-late 19th century
This Rugged Beauty of a landscape is only 13 miles from the Capital, Austin!
Today we rode our bikes to the swimming hole and listened to Onion Creek flood over the limestone, until we just had to take a dip!
We made the most of our day and followed the trails winding through the Hill Country woods, enjoying the works of Mother Nature!
We look forward to taking a break from city life and checking into tent camping, hiking, mountain biking, and bouldering!
